Revival 2015

Coeur D'Alene holds the promise of some breathtaking views.
I can't wait to see Mr. T. compete.

The time has come . . . to revive the blog.

We decided to take a break from the blog and official triathlon training after completing Ironman Chattanooga on September 28. No doubt about it, that IM finish along with the training for an entire year qualifies as the biggest accomplishment we've ever tackled and garnered. We still ride the high on that day some days.

The accomplishment has also led to some quirkiness in daily life that no one warned me about personally. Whining in the Troxells is quelled now by retorts such as, "You can handle this. You're an ironman," at least the adult version of whining. We're still trying to figure out how to silence the children's negative responses.

After five years with the Red Rocket, a bike arguably too small for my
Athena frame, I received this gift from Mr. T. She remains unnamed
for now.
But the day has passed as has the offseason officially in this house. The horizon looks bright as well, so we thought the time has come to let the world know that we haven't hung up the bike cleats yet and furthermore have found other hills to climb.

Less than a month after hearing Mike Reilly declare him an Ironman, Mr. T. decided to take on another IM challenge. We decided to not train for another full-on ironman simultaneously, so Jason decided to take 2015 as his year, and I'll wait until 2016. I do not plan on lying around, though, and doing nothing. Right now I have the Toughman Minnesota Chisago Lakes 70.3 on my radar and am considering one other late-season race. I might toe the line of a few local races if they fit into family life as well.

We found blogging to be too helpful to quit, so we'll continue to post weekly updates on how we balance the awesome family, training, and work. I'll assume the role of support person for Mr. T., though I anticipate he'll have his fair share of domestic duties as I continue my own pursuits as well.

So, if you're reading, welcome back to the roller coaster. We're hanging on tight and preparing for some big ascents this season.
